Cross Stitch Cable is a mock cable stitch since the crossing is accomplished with slip stitches rather than a cable needle

Knitted in a multiple of 6 sts and 4-row repeat.
Row 1 (Right side): * P1, k4, p1; repeat from * to end.
Row 2: * K1, p4 wrapping yarn twice around needle for each purl stitch, k1; repeat from * to end.
Row 3: * P1, sl 4 wyib dropping extra wraps, then with point of left-hand needle, pass the first 2 stitches over the second 2 stitches, return the stitches on the right-hand needle to the left-hand needle and knit all 4 stitches in the crossed order, p1; repeat from * to end.
Row 4: * K1, p4, k1; repeat from * to end.

Butterfly Bowknots

Special abbreviation
Butterfly stitch: Insert left hand needle down through the 3 loose strands below next stitch, purl these 3 strands together with next stitch on needle.

Cast on a multiple of 10 + 7.
Note: It's important to be sure the working yarn is loose behind the 5 slipped stitches.

Fisherman's Rib aka Shaker Rib

Fisherman’s rib pattern makes a fabric with a ribbed appearance but with more depth and softness than a standard rib. This stitch is the same on both sides.

Note: Given the elasticity of brioche, you should cast on and bind off very loosely

Knit version.
Cast on an even number of sts.
Set-up Row: Knit all sts.
Pattern Row: * K1, K1b; repeat from * to end.
Repeat Pattern Row until you have reached your desired length.

Purl version.
Cast on an even number of sts.
Set-up Row: Purl all sts.
Pattern Row: * P1, P1b; repeat from * to end.
Repeat Pattern Row until you have reached your desired length.

Abbreviations:
- K, P: Knit, purl.
- K1b: Knit 1 in the row below.
Insert needle through center of st 1 row below next st and knit, slipping st above off needle at same time.
- P1b: Purl 1 in the row below.

Cast on an even number of sts
Row 1 (Right side): Knit all sts.
Row 2: * Purl 2 sts together, but do not slip from needle, then purl the first stitch again, and slip both stitches from needle together; repeat from * to end.
Row 3: Knit all sts.
Row 4: Purl 1, * purl 2 sts together, but do not slip from needle, then purl the first stich again, and slip both stitches from needle together; repeat from * to last st, purl 1.
Repeat these 4 rows.


Dandelion Flowers

The Dandelion pattern is one of those terrific knitting patterns. The petals can be a bit difficult at first but you do soon get used to it.
Flower: Insert right-hand needle into the third stitch down from the second stitch on left needle (this space forms the centre of the flower) and draw through a loop, leave loop on right-hand needle and knit 2, make second loop into same stitch, knit 2, make third loop into same stitch.
Note: Make sure that your loop stitch is loose enough to lie flat and not distort your work.
Knitted in a multiple of 8 sts  + 1 and 12-row repeat.
Row 1 (RS): Knit all sts.
Row 2: Purl all sts.
Row 3: Knit all sts.
Row 4: Purl all sts.
Row 5: K3, flower, * k4, flower; repeat to last 2 sts, k2.
Row 6: P2, (p2tog, p1) twice, p2tog, * p3, (p2tog, p1) twice, p2tog; repeat to last 2 sts, p2,
Rows 7 through 10: Repeat rows 1 through 4.
Row 11: K7, * flower, k4; repeat from * to last 2 st, k2.

Use double pointed needle:
BC -  Slip 1 stitch to dpn and hold in back; k1, then p1 from dpn.
FC -  Slip 1 stitch to dpn and hold in front; p1, then k1 from dpn.
RT - Slip 1 stitch to dpn and hold in back, k1, then k1 from dpn.
LT - Slip 1 stitch to dpn and hold in front; k1, then k1 from dpn.
